Out-of-autoclave prepreg processing
- Production of composite components by processing pre-impregnated fibre types (preimpregnated)
- Prepregs removed from the freezer are prefabricated and inserted into the mould
- Layers are brought into the correct position by pressure rollers and draped without creases
- Combination with foam cores or inserts possible
- Mould is placed under vacuum with foil, silicone cover or second half of the mould
- Prepreg is further compressed by atmospheric pressure and excess resin is pressed out
- The method of choice for the highest demands on component quality, material homogeneity and thickness tolerance
- Enables fibre volume content of 55-60%
